This is a 38 hour course mandated by the State of LA to enable students 15-16 years of age wanting to obtain a drivers license. Students must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours behind the wheel driving instruction. The classroom instruction is done within 4 to 5 days. The driving instruction is scheduled once the 30 hour classroom instruction has been completed.

Classroom Instruction
The classroom instruction is 30-hours of the theoritcal portion of the course. Thiscourse consist of, but is not limited to:
- Roadway Signs
- Rules and Regulations
- Defensive Driving
- Alcohol Awareness
- Physics
- Following Distance Rules
- And MUCH MORE.....
The classroom section of the training is done in an informal related atmosphere. The instructor are trained to interact with the students to make the learning environment not only entertaining but effecting. Southwest Safety Training instructors and staff have an above and beyond attitude towards the quality of training presented and the amount of customer service that is provided. Also, the latest information is brought to the students and the parents.
Scheduling: Classroom courses are scheduled around the public school system. Classes are held on weekends and on holiday breaks. Classes held on the weekend's will take place for two weekends in a row.

Driving Instruction
The 8 hours of driver training is the application portion of the course. The student will have one-on-one private instruction to apply the information that was obtained in the 30-hour portion of the course. By providing 0ne-on-one driving instruction, there will be no other students to create distractions for the student being trained.
